Moving to Substack: A New Chapter for Uncensored Sex Education
Over the years, my work in sex education has been a journey of empowerment, discovery, and resilience. As a sexuality educator, I’ve dedicated myself to providing accurate, inclusive, and shame-free information about topics that often don’t get the spotlight they deserve. But as many of you may already know, the digital landscape isn’t always a friend to conversations about sex.
The Problem with Internet Censorship
The internet should be a place for free expression and access to diverse perspectives. Unfortunately, when it comes to sex education, this isn’t always the case. Platforms increasingly police content related to sexuality under the guise of “community guidelines” or “ad safety policies.” While these measures aim to curb harmful material, they often sweep sex education into the same bucket as explicit content, silencing educators and leaving users without reliable resources.
In recent years, I’ve faced frustrating roadblocks: blog posts flagged for discussing anatomy, shadowbanned social media accounts, and even emails marked as spam for including words like “pleasure” or “sex.” This censorship doesn’t just inconvenience me—it’s a barrier to the people who need this information the most.
If we’re serious about creating a world where everyone can make informed decisions about their bodies and relationships, we need platforms that allow sex educators to do their work without fear of algorithmic punishment. That’s why I’ve decided to move my writing to Substack.
